Hello,
For many years now, whenever the opportunity arises, I’ve been taking street shots of boots in everyday life. By ‘everyday’ I mean: on the street, on public transport, on escalators, in public buildings, shops, etc. The following applies:
- All photos are taken by me; there are no reposts from other sources.
- Photos always show only from the sole to the top of the boot, very occasionally perhaps slightly higher.
- Images are completely anonymous. No faces, no heads, no full-body shots.
- Overall, the following applies ‘stylistically’:
- I prefer leather to other materials, and within that, smooth leather rather than suede, for example. Patent leather is also great.
- I prefer longer shafts, so it’s primarily about knee high, thigh high or crotch high.
This doesn’t rule out ankle boots, but the longer ones are naturally less common in everyday life. Most of the time, it will end up being knee-high.- I have no preference regarding heel height. I’m maybe a bit more keen on flat soles than I am on heels, but when it comes to heels, I prefer block heels to stilettos.
- I prefer laced or buckled styles to others.
- I like black best.
- I have a particular fondness for heavy, ‘brutal’ boot styles such as military, ranger, biker or Dr Martens boots with 10 to 30-eyelet lacing, especially when worn by smaller, particularly petite women (or pressed between my legs or into my face).
- Riding boots also get a bonus
So much for the introduction. From now on, I’ll be continuing this thread with a steady stream of street shots. Enjoy – there’s enough to last a while – over 6,000 pictures.
Enjoy!
